Mockups of Indeed, TalentSorter and ZipRecruiter

Recruiting for businesses can be challenging — especially when the market can be oversaturated with job applicants and job postings. Sorting through tons of résumés can take up precious amounts of time. That is where recruitment tools come in to help.

What is a recruitment tool?

A recruitment tool is a technology, or application that businesses can utilize to streamline the process of recruiting potential candidates for a job. This blog from Vantage Circle goes more in depth about recruitment tools, check it out here. Recruitment tools can have integrations, making them work with current company software, such as applicant tracking software (ATS).

In short, a recruitment tool is supposed to make the process of recruitment easier.

There are many different types of recruitment tools, but today we will focus on three; Indeed, TalentSorter™, and ZipRecruiter®.

Overview

Indeed:

A job posting site, Indeed allows businesses to post job postings at lower costs dependent upon terms and conditions. Businesses are set up with an employer dashboard, which allows for the management of job postings, and under certain conditions, additional tools.

You can also sponsor a job post for an additional cost; this provides benefits such as reach and access to a quality candidates list. Sponsored job posts are set up to be billed per month, and only costs money when job seekers click on the sponsored job.

TalentSorter™:

A tool that utilizes AI technology, TalentSorter™ uses surveys, assessments, and data to determine quality candidates and business fit for job postings. This tool provides businesses with different guides, reports, and data to organize their applications prior to the interview stage. TalentSorter™ applies this technology not only to external applicants but can also apply it to internal employees. Pricing is specific to needs, but is unlimited use with a flat cost. This tool can use integrations, allowing businesses to use their existing application process with this technology.

ZipRecruiter®:

Having recently expanded into Canada in 2019, ZipRecruiter® is a job search application powered by AI technology. It is also partnered with other major job search sites. This makes ZipRecruiter® an employment marketplace.

For small to medium businesses, they offer three plans dependent upon features and pricing: standard, premium, or pro. There is separate pricing for enterprises which is determined by directly contacting them.

By using AI technology, ZipRecruiter® reaches out to potential matches actively, and then sends an invitation to apply. This application also has integrations. Integrations means that it can work with a business’ current ATS if partnered. You can find out more about ZipRecruiter® on their website.

So which one?

When considering a recruitment tool, businesses should consider several factors to see if it will meet their needs, including number of postings, anticipated applicants, management tools required, budget, and length of recruitment campaign. These are just a few factors that could help your business decide if a recruitment tool is right for the job.
