Vanier Children's Mental Wellness provides culturally responsive, accessible mental health services to children, youth, and families while providing system leadership and advocating to improve care in our community. Previously, they were operating and maintaining two separate websites - one for the public, and one for their board members.
By leveraging Drupal's fantastic user management and asset management capabilities, we were able to create a public website which properly showcases who Vanier is and the Services they provide, while simultaneously creating a easy to use portal for their board members.
The Challenge
Vanier needed a more reliable and user-friendly website. The board portal was especially problematic due to persistent file manager plugin issues. While the main site requirements were clear, defining the board portal's functionality required some extra creativity to build successfully. At the start of the project, Vanier was operating two WordPress sites—one for their main site and another for a board portal—both of which needed improvements, particularly the board portal, which suffered from ongoing technical issues.
Our Approach
- Built a unified Drupal site, improving usability and stability.
- Developed a secure, intuitive board portal without file manager plugin issues.
- Proactively designed the portal’s functionality to meet Vanier’s needs.
Conclusion
The new site streamlined operations, resolved technical issues, and improved board member usability. Despite initial uncertainties, our solution exceeded expectations, making this a successful first experience integrating a board portal.
